Paris is one of my favorite cities in the world. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love Paris? Paris literally has it all in terms of sites, world-class events and my favorites-food and drink. It is the gastronomic capital of the world. I’ve been to Paris countless times over the past 18 years and stayed in all kinds of accommodation. From filthy hostels to 5-Star hotels; from shared apartment rentals to boutique hotels-I’ve see the gamut in Paris. But I think I’ve found my favorite accommodation type in Paris. Here’s my Paris Perfect Vacation Rentals experience.
In my line of work, I get approached by unending apartment services, hotels and PR agencies to stay in their properties. I rarely accept. However, I’ve seen a few travel friends of mine in the past year or so work with a company called Paris Perfect Vacation Rentals. After asking them about the experience-the verdict was always fantastic. So I decided to seek them out to experience it for myself, as I was planning on a long stay for the French Open and Euro 2016.
Paris Perfect Vacation Rentals seamlessly set me up in a great apartment. It was in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower in the Ecole Militaire/Champ de Mars area of Paris on Rue Saint-Dominique. The area is perfect for a longer stay in Paris and I stayed for 6 days.
If you’re staying in a city for longer than 2-3 days, it really makes sense to do a vacation rental as opposed to a hotel. You get a more authentic experience. You can unpack, unwind and get to know a neighborhood. In fact, every time I stay in Paris or a great global city like London, Berlin or Barcelona, I like to stay in a new area to get to know it. I rarely stay in the same place twice in a foreign city unless it’s a pure work trip because I like to have different experiences.
Hotels are great. In fact, I love luxury hotels and often stay in the top hotels in the world for both work and pleasure. But hotels, even the top hotels, get stale after several days and you feel confined. In a city like Paris, where so much of the experience is taking in the atmosphere, sights, smells and local places-it’s better to have your own place and to experience it how you want. Instead of the bubble of the hotel experience.
In Paris alone, in the past 5 years, I’ve used 3-4 different apartment services and generally had good results. I prefer a service like Paris Perfect Vacation Rentals over something like AirBnb because they’re specific to that city and they manage the apartment like a hotel.
That means it’s always going to be clean, nice and what you see is what you get. You don’t have to guess like you might on AirBnb. You also don’t get peoples’ dirty dishes or smelly laundry laying around. You have your own beautiful apartment and if there’s anything wrong you have some real recourse. There is a responsible party as opposed to threatening to leave a bad review; which is lame, childish and annoying.
I also prefer Paris Perfect Vacation Rentals to other apartment rental services because you’re dealing with a management company directly instead of the owner or tenant who lives there. I personally find this easier to deal with as you cut out the middleman. You actually feel like the apartment is yours as opposed to seeing who normally lives there; which can skew your viewpoint if they’re messy or something.
In Paris, you really can’t go wrong because at the end of the day, you’re still in Paris; which is awesome! However, if you’re spending some time in Paris and you want an upscale apartment where you really see value, check out Paris Perfect Vacation Rentals.
Disclaimer: I stayed in this Paris Perfect Vacation Rentals apartment free of charge. I was not obligated to write this post but was compelled to after a great experience as I feel it would be beneficial to others. I highly recommend this service based on my own experience only and my opinions have not been influenced in any way.

I will 100% try this service next time I’m in Paris. I go there 2-3 times a year for a week or so with work. I generally stay near the office in La Defense but I’m not married to that idea.
Nice to hear check it out!
Thanks for the advice. We are going to Paris in September and I’m going to look at this for availability. This couldn’t have come at a better time for us!
Hope it works out Susan!
This is a great tip and looks like an amazing experience- Paris is always beautiful, and this heightens the experience!
True story Steph!
The hotel room look really nice and affordable, nothing too fancy…in such a fancy City.
It’s not a hotel but thanks!
