Last June, I went to Mont-Tremblant for the very first time. I wrote 5 awesome things to do in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, Canada. I had such a great time; I wanted to check it out in the winter as well to see all the differences. So my first trip of 2017 was a perfect winter weekend in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec!
I flew up to Mont-Tremblant from New York via Toronto on Air Canada. Last summer I actually flew to Montreal and then drove. This was much easier and the Mont-Tremblant airport is really cute, like a little log cabin!
For me, a perfect winter weekend in Mont-Tremblant certainly involves food. The very first thing I did upon arrival is head to lunch! I went straight for La Diable Microbrewery, home to the best poutine in Mont-Tremblant. I had eaten there the last time I was in town and couldn’t wait to have it again! It didn’t disappoint!
How does one combat food coma? An in-room massage at the Westin Hotel seemed like a great idea! My massage therapist came to the room, was very professional and worked out all the kinks. The best thing about an in-room massage is you don’t have to go far to relax afterwards. You can just melt into bed and nap before dinner!
Dinner at La Savoie Fondue Restaurant was possibly my favorite meal of the weekend. I would literally need to be rolled out of the restaurant from eating so much food but it was worth it. The cheese and meat fondue selections were amazing and the scallops were some of the best I’ve ever tasted. I highly recommend this restaurant.
After a great nights sleep in the Westin’s heavenly bed it was time for a helicopter tour of Mont-Tremblant. I did one of these over the summer as well but to be honest it was way better in winter. The scenery was perfect. The snow-covered trees went on forever and the village looked mythical. It’s a great way to get your bearing, it leaves from a frozen lake just off the village and it only takes 20 minutes! It’s well worth it and really is a highlight of a winter weekend in Mont-Tremblant.
After walking around the village and picking up some warm weather gear for dogsledding, I headed out for my third time ever dogsledding. I had previously done it once during a daytrip to Greenland and once in Alberta, Canada. This was easily the best time.
The actual dogsledding time was about 90-minutes through a great course where I only crashed the sled once and literally got snow up my jacket and down my pants. It’s a good thing it was only -20 out or I might gave been cold (Insert sarcasm here)! In all seriousness it was a blast and we actually got to load the sled and choose the dog teams ourselves; which was really cool. This is definitely a great activity to check out and something most people don’t generally get to do!
Saturday night dinner was at Casino Tremblant at a delicious restaurant called l’Altitude. Dinner was awesome (I recommend the pork chop) and the service even better. The casino itself was really cool in that it had open windows so you can see the gorgeous nature. It’s the only casino I’ve ever seen like that. Most want you to only see the gambling tables-try finding a window in a Vegas casino!
Sunday morning, for my final activity, I was up early and off to the Scandinave Spa. I did this over the summer and thought it was pretty cool. This time I did it in -20 degree weather and honestly I think I liked it better. Yes it was cold as heck out but the warm pools were refreshing and invigorating. I fully admit I didn’t go into the cold ones as I didn’t want my body to go into cold shock but it is a beautiful spa and well worth a trip out!
Honestly, this is a blueprint to a perfect winter weekend in Mont-Tremblant and I didn’t even go skiing! I have been nursing an injury so didn’t want to do anything too physical. I didn’t ski, snowboard or snowshoe and I still had an amazing weekend!
Mont-Tremblant is a bit of a fairy tale town in the Quebec wilderness. It’s a gorgeous place with friendly people, great shops, restaurants and nature. I recommend it in the summer and 100% think it’s the perfect spot for a winter getaway!

I remember when you went over the summer and thought it looked great. Now im dying to go up there.
Thanks Andrew and I highly recommend it!
Are there direct flights from the US?
I’m not 100% but I don’t think there’s regularly scheduled service but obviously there would be charters. The airport is seasonal as well.
Yes from LaGuardia! https://www.tremblant.ca/plan/getting-here/direct-flights-and-shuttle-service-to-tremblant
Thanks for that I had no idea!
That poutine hurts my heart right now, as I’m at the halfway point of Whole30 lol. Mont-Tremblant looks lovely! I’d love to go there sometime.
Hey! It’s so good!!!! All the best with the whole 30 thing…honestly I don’t even know what that is but I assume healthy eating?!
Oh my gosh. Bring on that Scandinave Spa! My shoulders are killing me from work and skiing. Mont-Tremblant looks like the perfect place to unwind!
Yes it is so good!!!!
Dogsledding has been on my to do list forever and yet I’ve never done it. Looks like Mont-Tremblant is an awesome place to do it! Will check out your top to-dos also.
You’d love it man!
Hey Lee! Wonderful share, i would highly recommend this to my friends living in Canada.
This looks like a great winter trip Lee! I’ve always wanted to go dog sledding, even if it means a little snow up the jacket!
What a winter wonderland! Awesome photos – looks and sounds like a perfect weekend escape. Will have to keep it in mind – though I’d for sure have to snowboard.
So beautiful place and suggested so good things of that place. i really like beauty of that palce and so stunning photos you shared.
Not only did I not know that Mount Tremblant had a casino, but that is interesting to hear that they actually have windows on the gaming floor. You would never see that at the casinos in Niagara Falls, either. Mad respect to the Mount Tremblant for doing that.
