It doesn’t have quite the starpower that it could with the absence of Ronaldhino, Ronaldo, Kaka, Adriano, and Cafu but the Copa America final will pit the two great powers of South America against one another when Argentina meets the 5 time World Champions Brazil in Venezuela.
Argentina looks pretty strong right now after they manhandled Mexico in the semifinals and Brazil was lucky to sneak by Uruguay. Messi and Crespo are in top form along with Tevez, Riquelme and the rest of the Argentinians. They are looking to avenge a disappointing World Cup last year in Germany and win the Copa title this year.
Although a lot of the best players on the planet are not participating for Brazil, citing a rigorous European schedule, the Brazilians are still very strong with young guns Robinho, Diego, Alex and of course the old man Gilberto Silva who plays for my favorite team, Arsenal.
I am looking forward to it on Sunday, and the other good news is that its only about 5 weeks or so until the Premiership kicks off again with the off season transactions continuing at a rapid pace with the Gunners signing French fullback, Bacary Sagna to go along with their French coack Arsene Wenger. I don’t think he’ll make up for losing Thierry Henry but it’s a start. They are battling uphill with Chelsea and Manchester United far and away above the rest of the Premiership, but thats why they play the games.
Brasil will win, they still more talented than Argentina even without the galacticos
Brasil without Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Kaka, Adriano and Cafu . . . hmmm? If they didn\’t show up to play for the World Cup last year in Germany I doubt they would make a difference in this year\’s COPA AMERICA. Youth will be served. ROBINHO will be more than enough for Argentina to handle.
cheers.
You are correct, except for Ronaldo they didn’t show up last year in the the World Cup-especially Ronaldinho
