San Sebastian is pretty nice
santiago de compostela and salamanca
Lesser known, but Merida, Spain is one of my favorites. It has some impressive Roman ruins including an relatively intact Roman Theater. (and in keeping with the “where am I?” theme, it is where Russell Crow’s character’s family lived in the Gladiator).
Good info on the Gladiator reference about Merida, I like it. I have not been to Merida, I may have to check it out next time I’m in Espana.
