Today I leave Athens, Greece on a sure to be amazing cruise aboard the Azamara Quest! You may remember I took a memorable cruise on the Azamara Journey last year and loved every second of it. So I am back for more; this time sailing from Athens to Istanbul, Turkey!
After having a great day in here Athens (all the following pictures in this post are from Athens), I look forward to stopping at the following ports en route to Istanbul: Patmos, Greece; Ephesus (Kusadasi) and Dikili, Turkey; Volos, Thessaloniki and Kavala, Greece before arriving in Istanbul-one of the 30 best cities in the world!
I will be doing shore excursions each day including an insider access monastery tour in Patmos and an Azamazing Evening in Ephesus; which I am beyond pumped for! Aside from Athens and Istanbul, Ephesus is the only stop on this cruise that I’ve been to before but it was way back in March 2001-so I am very excited!
There will be some great photos coming and also daily-ish blog posts. I am really excited to be cruising again with the great people of Azamara. You can follow them on Twitter at @AzamaraVoyages and @AzamaraQuest or check out my twice monthly blog posts for Azamara entitled Adventures Abroad with Lee Abbamonte.

Lee, we love Azamara! We cruised with them last summer and were extremely impressed.
Yes my last cruise was tremendous and this one looks be to equally as cool! Azamara does it right!
You don’t strike me as the cruise type! Are you the youngest one onboard? Sounds like a great itinerary so I guess it doesn’t really matter. Have fun.
To be honest I didn’t know I liked cruises til I went last year with Azamara. It’s a great deal, you can unpack and be in one place for a week and see new places each day…good deal to me!
Tremendous Parthenon pictures. One of my favorite sites in the world. ENjoy the cruise.
Thanks Damon!
I’ve heard great things about Azamara and I like the small ships. Looking forward to hearing about your experience as I imagine you’re not exactly the target market! We’re the same age by the way Lee.
Laura it’s a great age and a great cruise line!
Have so much fun Lee-I know you will and can’t wait to see the updates along the way.
Thanks Shane and will do!
